My Offerings

This is my beginners class for students who have never used a sewing machine before. I will get you started with machine threading, getting comfortable with sewing curves and straight lines, and practicing on paper and fabric. This is not a project class. This is a private 2 hour lesson, $125

This class is based from my apartment in Park Slope, though I offer house calls for an extra fee.

For students who have taken Sewing 101, or are comfortable making straight and curved stitches on a machine, this is a project-based class where we make a zipper pouch, tote bag, or a basic pillow. This is a private 2 hour lesson, $125

This class does not include materials, but I will send you a PDF with recommendations of where to buy fabric and other supplies.

During my a-la-carte private sewing lessons, I can go into more depth of how to use a sewing machine. I can teach you all my tips and tricks for garment construction on a machine and by hand. I can teach you pattern-making skills, sewing from a commercial pattern, copying your favorite garments, making home decor, quilting, making plushies, you name it.

I offer flexible and expert guidance from my apartment in Park Slope. Booking is by the hour, with a two hour minimum.

I offer a 10% discount if you book 3-5 lessons at once, 20% discount if you book 6+ lessons at once..

These are the same as my private lessons, but at a discounted rate for you and one friend/sibling/child. I only have one sewing machine, so I can’t accommodate more students at this moment.

Beginners Intensive:

This class combines my Sewing 101 beginners class for students who have never used a sewing machine before with the My First Project class, with a little extra time for practice and finishing your project. I will get you started with machine threading, getting comfortable with sewing curves and straight lines, and practicing on paper and fabric. After that, you will make your first project - a zipper pouch, a tote bag, or a pillow.

Project Based Intensive:

Are you working on a project and need extra support and guidance? I will be available to help you with your project and teach you any techniques you don’t know. This is a 5 hour workshop.

This class is based from my apartment in Park Slope, though I offer house calls for an extra fee. This class is 5 hours - $300

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit? Now is your chance. I offer flexible private knitting lessons for adults and children. Booking is by the hour, $45 per hour. I recommend a 2 hour booking for a beginner lesson.

In a beginners session, I would cover the knit stitch and get you started on your first project (a garter stitch scarf, dishtowel, or pot holder). Once you are comfortable with the knit stitch, I can show you how to purl. I am also able to teach you how to follow a pattern and I can demo how to do specific techniques.

I am willing to travel anywhere in south brooklyn for free, or you are welcome to come to my apartment and I can teach you to knit from here. I can travel anywhere outside of south brooklyn for a fee.

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit? Now is your chance. I will be offering small group knitting lessons for adults in Prospect Park this Spring/Summer. Please email me if you are interested and we will coordinate to find a good date/time for all.

This will be a 2 hour class and the rate will be $35 per person.

I can bring my sewing machine to your apartment anywhere in manhattan or Brooklyn, or come to your apartment to teach you or your child how to knit if you live outside of the neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods for an additional $50.
